When the window is open

Mon–Sat 9am–3pm; catering year round

Those are the walk-up hours at the lake. Catering is a separate thing: the same trailer comes to your wedding, party or reunion, and that runs on its own calendar. Specials go up on the chalkboard by the window when something is good that week, and when it's sold out, it's sold out.

How to find it

The trailer is at Blue Spruce Campground, County Road 500, Vallecito Lake, CO 81122. Look for the trailer with the painted sunburst on its side and the menu boards out front.

From Bayfield it's a pretty drive up into the mountains toward the lake, where the pines start. Get directions in Google Maps.

Can't spot it? Call me at (801) 500-8215 and I'll point you in. It's walk-up only, with no ordering ahead by phone or online, so come hungry and pick from the board.

What's on the board

Breakfast is burritos, made to order: the Vallecito Burrito and the Carnivore (both with elk), the Carnita, the Sausage and the Basic, plus sourdough breakfast sandwiches like the B.E.A.S.T. and Johnnie's Jam.

Lunch is sandwiches and melts: the Elk Sloppy Joe, BBQ Pork, the Johnnie Apple Brie, the Fig Melt, the Turkey Melt and the BLT. The OG, a double grilled cheese on sourdough, is always there for kids and anyone who wants simple.

Then the camp sodas, mixed to order at the window: the Happy Camper, Camp Cola, the Dirty Dr. Pepper and the rest of the chalkboard. Every item with its description is on the Vallecito Lake food truck menu.

A plain quesadilla or plain grilled cheese is always on offer for young kids and picky eaters. Tell me about any allergy or dietary need when you order and I'll accommodate it to the very best of my ability.

Bring the window to your event

The same trailer and the same menu come to you. We park, cook on site and serve from the window or set it out as a buffet, with our own generator and water.
